Simple ombre wooden decorations for Mollie Makes Magazine

A few weeks ago I was asked to create some simple, year-round decorations using chunky wooden beads for Mollie Makes Magazine's special Winter Homestyle supplement (out with the current issue!). I decided to add a touch of ombre (in layers of eco-freindly white paint) to give the decorations a 'dipped' look and add a bit of cool contrast to the warmth of the wood.

Here they are, hanging out with one of my little cacti! For the full how-to check out issue 58 of Mollie Makes! (I also had the fun job of playing with the free mini-weaving-loom that comes with the issue to make the demonstration weaving you'll see on the cover).

New experiments in new clays!

Here's a little sneak peek at the beginnings of some new work. I've been experimenting with lovely black and grogged clays and can't wait to work on transforming the results into finished jewellery!! Watch this space...
