'Make it Your Own' (my first book!) almost done!

EDIT: 'Make it Your Own' is NOW OUT!! Buy it here

So I'm hoping this will be the last 'sneak peek' at images from my upcoming book 'Make it Your Own' and in a few short months I'll be able to show you the finished thing! But for now here are some of my favourite images from each chapter.

The book is divided into four chapters, 'Organising', 'Nesting', 'Decorating' and 'Celebrating' - all things that I think should go on in any home! Each chapter is packed with projects you can make to put your own design stamp on the place you call home. And for added inspiration, each project also comes with a list of suggestions for how you might 'make it your own', ways of adapting or varying the project to explore your own style.

This pin-board decorated with hand-cut paper flowers is one of the projects from the 'Organising' chapter which is all about keeping your stuff in some kind of order and at the same time showing it off!

The 'Nesting' chapter (as the title suggests) is about comfort - mostly cushions and blankets to make your sofa or armchair as comfy (and as beautiful) as possible. Each project has full instructions, and templates where necessary, like for the wool embroidery on the cushions above.

The 'Decorating' chapter focuses on smaller, more portable kinds of decorating (for those of us without the funds to lay new flooring or those who's landlords won't allow re-painting) - projects include the simple painted plant holders above, lamp-shades and wall hangings (made using a range of techniques from stencilling to knitting!).

The last chapter looks at making your home a little more celebratory, for special occasions or just to cheer yourself/someone else up! You can just about see the corner of a machine appliquéd table cloth (one of the projects) peeking out from under the cocktails in the image above, while another simple project, the tassel garland, gleams in the background.

And finally, here are samples of many of the gorgeous eco-ethical fabrics I used in so many of the projects (fabric bought from here or here).

I can't wait to share the finished book with you later in the year!
