Pics from my necklace making workshop for HUBBUB!

I was thrilled to be contacted a few weeks ago by the lovely Zoe from The Good Wardrobe about running a workshop as part of HUBBUB's fabulous Refashion day. After discussing a few options for projects focussing on sustainable materials we decided upon a 'wood and wool' necklace workshop combining sustainable wooden beads with eco-ethical yarns to create wearable statement necklaces!

The workshop turned out to be an absolute joy, with a truly inspiring level of creativity in the room. I started off by demonstrating a simple version of the project and then offered to show anyone who fancied taking it a bit further a more advanced version - everyone stayed for the second demo!

It was a cold, wet night and a warm basement room at the gorgeous Somerset House was definitely the best place to be!

I love seeing the concentration....

....and the joy that comes from a couple of hours of crafting and chatting!

A huge thank you to HUBBUB for organising such a positive and valuable day, to Clare Nicolson for her invaluable help teaching with me on the night and most of all to the beautiful group of crafters who each designed and made something truly special, on a rainy Wednesday night!
